Edward introduces Bella to his family and later that evening, the Cullen family plays a game of baseball where Bella encounters a vampire named James who wants to hunt her down, suck her blood and kill her.
Climax: Bella flees back to Phoenix to try and escape James and protect her father. James lures her into a trap, but Edward arrives just in time to save her life and kills James.
Falling Action: Bella is hospitalized for her injuries. Bella and Edward confess their love each other.
Resolution: Bella moves back to Forks so that she can be with Edward, meanwhile she is still flirting with the idea of becoming a vampire herself so that she can be with Edward forever.
Twilight has very strong character development, though the use of dialogue the reader comes to know and care for Bella. The mood and atmosphere of the story is well developed and creates a suspenseful backdrop to the dangerous budding love of Bella and Edward.
